The Project brings together companies engaged in caring for the environment, participating in environmental actions and seeking the well-being of the community in which they operate. Through the Arborizar Project, JOMO plants trees in streets and avenues of the cities of Novo Hamburgo and Ivoti, with the purpose of reducing pollution, bringing climate balance and, of course, making cities much more beautiful. This project also works in environmental education by raising awareness of future generations in schools for children from the first grades.
JOMO only uses electricity from a clean, totally renewable source that does not harm the environment. The electricity consumed by the company comes from wind, solar, biomass, SHP and CGH power plants, with the objective of obtaining an environmentally clean and sustainable energy matrix, in accordance with the company's principles and values.
In this project, JOMO provides post-industrial materials for recycling practices in schools, NGOs and institutions. This action aims to provide information, awareness and environmental awareness related to waste management. The materials are transformed into socio-pedagogical activities, offering new possibilities and exercising the creativity of those involved. More than 100 tons of materials have been reused and recycled since the beginning of the project.
This project aims to provide support for the Association for Assistance in Pediatric Oncopedia - AMO Criança, which supports children and adolescents with cancer. JOMO provides collectors within the company for employees to deposit plastic caps. The amount collected is delivered to the institution, which sells the material and reverts the amount to the purchase of medicines, treatments, exams and medical consultations for patients. This action also promotes a reduction in the generation of plastic waste, contributing to sustainability.
This project aims to minimize the environmental impacts generated by the incorrect disposal of saturated oil. JOMO employees are made aware of bringing to the company the oil waste generated in their homes, and may exchange the oil for gifts. The oil collected is sent to the CAUDEQ institution in Novo Hamburgo, where residents carry out training activities with the oil received, making soap, another part is delivered to the company COLETO Óleos Vegetais Saturados Ltda in Porto Alegre, which allocates the oil to be transformed into recycled vegetable oil that is used in the detergents, soaps, cosmetics and biofuels industries.
